Concept & Inspiration

This table was created with the goal of combining elegance and functionality, designing a furnishing element that is discreet yet impactful. The transparent glass top aims to enhance surrounding light and architecture, while the solid structure ensures stability and safety. The intent is to craft an object that naturally integrates into contemporary settings, enhancing the aesthetic without overpowering the space.

Technical Analysis

  • Optimized modeling: the model features clean geometry, with a clear distinction between broad surfaces and structural details. This approach keeps the model lightweight without compromising visual credibility.
  • Realistic materials: PBR shaders accurately reproduce the transparency and reflections typical of glass, while the metallic parts of the frame are rendered with consistent and believable finishes.
  • Versatile use: the model is suitable for static renderings, architectural presentations, and also interactive environments (game engines, VR/AR), thanks to the ideal balance between quality and performance.

Visual Description

  • Transparent glass: the tabletop is intentionally simple yet reflective, emphasizing the surrounding architecture.
  • Robust structure: the supports feature an essential and proportioned design, conveying stability and strength without weighing down the overall look.
  • Aesthetic balance: the contrast between the transparency of the glass top and the solidity of the base creates a harmonious and modern effect, perfect for elegant and contemporary spaces.

Challenges Faced

  • Credible transparency: balancing the transparency of the glass to avoid a flat or overly reflective result, while still showing the underlying structure.
  • Delicate details: accurately modeling joints, connections, and glass thickness was a challenge to realistically represent both geometry and light behavior.
  • Visual and technical efficiency: finding a compromise between high graphic quality and lightweight modeling, ensuring flexible use in various contexts (rendering vs real-time).
  • Consistent materials: maintaining coherence among materials, especially transparent components transparency, reflections, refraction, and glass edge all require careful tuning.
